PRERANA 2025 & TecRhythm Inauguration

Date: 13/02/2025

Prerana 2025

Squareroots.ai had the privilege of being part of PRERANA – Igniting Excellence, an induction program at MNR University organized by the School of Engineering and Technology (SOET). This program serves as a guiding light for students, helping them set academic goals, understand key policies, and prepare for a future of innovation and excellence. During the event, we had the opportunity to address and inspire the next generation of engineers, sharing insights on AI, innovation, and industry trends. The session focused on equipping students with the right mindset and skills to thrive in today’s dynamic tech landscape.

Unravelling AI: More Than Just Research

One of the most common questions was “What is AI?” and “Is AI just research, or does it solve real-world problems?” We emphasized that AI is not just an academic concept—it is actively transforming industries like healthcare, packaging, manufacturing, finance, and transportation by solving complex problems, optimizing processes, and enhancing decision-making. AI is already creating innovative solutions for automation, quality inspection, medical diagnostics, and personalized customer experiences, proving its real-world impact.

AI & Jobs: A Threat or an Opportunity?

A major concern among students was “Will AI reduce job opportunities?” The truth is, AI is reshaping jobs, not eliminating them. While automation may replace repetitive tasks, it is also creating new roles that demand AI expertise, problem-solving, and creativity. The key is upskilling—understanding AI, learning programming, and developing analytical thinking to stay ahead in the evolving job market.

Aligning Education with Corporate Needs

Students also wondered, “Are we on the right path in choosing our stream with corporate needs?” The answer lies in bridging academic learning with industry expectations. Companies seek professionals with technical expertise, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and hands-on experience. Staying updated with trending technologies, internships, and industry projects can significantly boost career readiness.

Cracking Interviews & Preparing for the First Job

Many students asked, “What traits should we follow to crack interviews?” and “What should we achieve before joining a company as a fresher?” Apart from technical knowledge, recruiters look for:
✔ Problem-solving skills
✔ Strong fundamentals in programming & AI/ML
✔ Good communication & teamwork
✔ Project-based learning & internships
✔ A mindset of continuous learning

Building a strong portfolio, contributing to open-source projects, and practising coding challenges can make freshers stand out in the hiring process.

Startup Readiness: What to Prepare?

For those planning to start their own venture, a key question was, “What should we be ready with?” A successful startup requires:
✅ A clear problem statement & market need
✅ Technical expertise & business acumen
✅ A strong network & mentorship
✅ Understanding of product-market fit
✅ Financial planning & investment strategies

We also had the honour of inaugurating ‘TecRhythm’, a forward-thinking initiative by the university aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in AI, data science, Cybersecurity, robotics, and various emerging technologies. This platform will help students apply their knowledge, experiment with real-world applications, and work on projects that align with industry demands.
